Need replacement cable for Canvio 500 GB

The USB end is poor quality--it is too loose to make a good connection. why don't you offer a replacement that works?

Many others are complaining about this problem!

How can I return the device if you aren't going to offer a replacement cable?

Where can I find a user manual for the Toshiba 320 Canvio Basics 3.0?

I am not sure the product came with a user manual. The Toshiba web site managed to send me on a finding Nemo chase with no success.

Please go to http://support.toshiba.com and click on Product Support. Here you will find a pull down menu which will display a “Category,” “Family,” and “Model.”

Select Hard Drives & Storage in the Category / Portable USB Hard Drives in the Family and then locate and highlight your model number. Click on Go and you will be taken to a page of resources.

Here you will find User Guides, and any available downloads and be sure to check out the FAQ’s in the Support Bulletins tab.

How do I delete content already on the external hard drive?

My friend gave me his old Canvio portable hard drive after getting a newer one. He had a few things saved on the one he gave me, and every time I try to move it to the trash or delete the files on it, I am informed that I cannot perform that operation. How do I go about deleting his stuff or clearing the hard drive?

Try reformatting it. right click on its icon and click on format. This will delete EVERYTHIG on it including any preinstalled software.

Connecting the external hard drive to a new computer

I backed up my old PC to the external hard drive. I want to connect it to my new PC and download my old files, pictures, etc. Can I do this or will my external hard drive be erased?
