Great question. As with any electronic device, the best choice is the one which best fits how you will use the product. If you have a cell phone, you faced the same choice--with or without 4G. If you wanted the ability to stream data for movies or music etc., or Internet access any where your account provides coverage, you chose a 4G account and phone. If not, a simple cell phone account did the trick.

Assuming the iTunes were located on a laptop with a USB 2.0 port. Connect the USB 2.0 port on the laptop to the Mini USB 2.0 port on the Thrive Tablet. The laptop will then read the Thrive Tablet as an external USB device, making file transfer easy.

The Thrive™ 10" Tablet - 4G employs a 4G HSPA+ Mobile Broadband chipset--consequently the AT&T network. An alternate solution, however, is to leverage the built-in Wi-Fi found on all the Thrive™ Tablets by purchasing a mobile hotspot and service through your desired carrier. The hotspot will tap into the carrier's 4G network for the coverage area, covert the signal to Wi-Fi, which the Thrive™ then use for data streaming etc.

Question

When Will ICS (Android 4.0) Be Available?

I would like to know when ICS (Android 4.0) will become available for OTA Update? Honeycomb is the worst! If I had known Honeycomb was going to be this bad I would never have bought the tablet until ICS (Android 4.0) was available as an update. So much of the OS is unstable and very sluggish. My 2 year old Android cell phone has ICS (Android 4.0) on it and it runs amazing. I will never buy another Toshiba product again if an update doesn't become available. I was also told by a colleague that there is some kind of agreement that as long as a product remains on the shelf for sale, if a new version of Android comes out, that item is suppose to be supplied an update. I really hope this is true.

Good news! Toshiba has rolled out Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich to our Thrive Tablet (10-inch) TODAY, August 6th. Systems will automatically update upon connection to the Internet. You can also use the TOSHIBA Service Station utility to update your Thrive Tablet, if you do not have your system set to auto-update.
