Question

Do I need 5 cables to connect my RCA DVD player?

I tried using a Yellow, white and red cable alone, but only got sound and black and white picture.

I think I need a red, blue and green cable set, as well as a red and white set.

Right or wrong?

The three RCA cables are called composite (also called Video), and the set of five are called component (also called ColorStream). Many Toshiba TVs use a shared input. There are a set of five jacks for component input, but you can also connect a composite device, ignoring the last two jacks. When this happens, the device will appear to be black and white until an option in the settings menu is changed so the TV knows that a composite device is connected.
Without a specific model number, I can’t give step by step directions. Look in the settings menu for “AV Input” or “Shared Input.” Change it from “ColorStream HD” to “Video.” Please note that this is not the input menu. The input menu will show either “Video” or “ColorStream HD,” and that depends on the option in the settings menu.

I know this was probably answered already but I have seen a number of "?" regarding PC resolution on your/their HDTV and it being terrible. I have my comp. and everything else running from my receiver all HDMI and an ethernet cat6 hardplugged from it to my router. I have 1 HDMI cable going to my tv. even if you just have your PC straight connected to your TV my recommendation is which I use and has SIGNIFICANTLY improved my picture quality is dl a program called powerstrip ver3.9 Don't be scared it has ALOT of features but it is fairly simple to use. just dl it run it and set it up. I LOVE my Toshiba tv its the best thing I have ever bought, I just wish the firmware gave you more options and features. I guess they wanted to make it easier by keeping most of that control.

All the best

That doesn’t appear to be a valid model number. Double-check your model number. You might also want to try checking the user’s guide.
