How to partioning the hard drive for l500?
Please may i know how can i partiton the hard drive for the toshiba l500 series.because it contains 500Gb apacity in a one drive.so if i can partion this in to atleast two drives then it will make me easy access.

Sorry, the operating system cannot be substituted. However, Toshiba still sells a number of models with Microsoft Windows XP Professional installed. Check it out:

Can't Create Recovery discs on L500
I have tried on a number of occasions to create the Recovery discs on my Satellite L500 which is only 4 months old. I was using Verbatim DVD +RW and on each occasion the disc failed with the message that it could not read "D:\sources\boot.wim". This occurred on three occasions. After reading a post suggesting the use of a DVD-R disc I tried again and again the disc failed this time with a different error message. Any suggestions?

An HDMI port is required to connect a laptop to an HDTV. There are three Satellite L500 models which have an HDMI port: L505-ES5034, L505-GS5039, and L505-ES5042.

i have a satellite L500 series laptop and its processor is only a pentium and i was wondering whether or not it would be worth it to upgrade to an i3 for better performance? Also whether or not my computer is compatible or not.

If your TV has a VGA (RGB) input, that would be the best output to use. If your TV has no VGA input, you'll need a separate scan converter to convert the laptop's VGA signal to an S video or composite video signal that can be plugged into your TV. The Avermedia iMicro is an inexpensive scan converter that does a pretty decent job. If you use a scan converter, be aware that the displayed resolution on your TV will be vastly inferior to what you see on your laptop screen.

How can i enable the hotkeys?
I have Toshiba flashcards along the top of my screen and it shows the keyboard shortcuts(fn+esc=mute/unmute, etc.) but the keyboard shortcuts don't work. I had them on my old toshiba laptop and loved them and would really like to be able to use them again.
